JAKE GOSLING SIGNS FOR BRISTOL ROVERS

24 June 2014

Winger joins the team

Winger Jake Gosling has become the latest summer signing for Bristol Rovers.

The free agent has joined Rovers after leaving Exeter City at the end of last season.

Gosling, 20, graduated through the youth ranks at Exeter, before signing his first professional contract in April 2012.

He spent time on loan at Dorchester Town, before returning to Exeter and making his debut for the Grecians in January 2013.

In March, Gosling joined Gloucester City on loan until the end of the season, scoring three times in 12 appearances.

Manager Darrell Clarke said: “Jake is a creative midfielder who can play either side and off the striker.

“Marcus Stewart has worked with him before at Exeter, and really likes him.

“He comes here at a good age, and he will be trying to kick on his career while he is here with us.

“He is a kid with big potential, and I look forward to working with him.”

Jake made his international debut for Gibraltar in May, scoring against Estonia in a 1-1 draw. The goal was Gibraltar's first away goal since joining UEFA.

Chairman Nick Higgs said: “I would like to welcome Jake to the club, he is an exciting young player, and I wish him every success here.

“Darrell is rebuilding his squad for next season, and Jake is another welcome addition.”
