CLUCAS SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

14 June 2013

Midfielder signs for another year

Seanan Clucas has today signed a one year contract extension with Bristol Rovers.

The talented midfielder was in a good run of form, before picking up an ACL in February that ended his season.

Manager John Ward said: "Seanan's signature is another important piece of the jigsaw in building the team.

"Although it is going to be a while before he is back fit, he is still an integral part of the squad, and he could still play a big part this season.

"He has a bright future, and before his injury he showed us what he is capable of. He will be pushing to get back in and around the first team as soon as possible.

"We think it is vital to look after players who pick up injuries while playing for us, and this is an important message to the rest of the team."

Seanan joined Rovers from Preston North End in pre-season last year.

The midfielder was signed by Preston from Dungannon Swifts in 2009 and, after a two year scholarship, was handed his first professional contract at Deepdale.

Chairman Nick Higgs said: "We are delighted that Seanan has signed on for another year.

"He was unfortunate to pick up a bad injury last season, but we are looking forward to having him back as soon as possible, and continuing his good form."
